Almond Blossoms Adelaide - Vintage Travel Poster Australia

The artwork for the original colour lithograph was created by Clifford Wall and published in Adelaide for the Government Publicity and Tourist Bureau of South Australia in the 1930's. This stunning Adelaide poster was used to promote travel to Adelaide while the almond trees were in blossom. Artwork illustrates a tree in full blossom, a farm cottage in the background and farmer shovelling almonds into a wheel barrow in the foreground.

Clifford Wall was born in the1870s and was a student at the School of Design during 1894 to 1904. He joined the public service as draughtsman in 1907 and in 1911 he produced artworks promoting Mount Gambier and the Naracoorte Caves for the State Tourist Bureau of South Australia.

Clifford was appointed Supervising Lithographic Artist to the South Australian Government Printing Office in 1918 and in 1936 was appointed the Government Photo-lithographer. Clifford Wall died in 1945, aged 72 and was buried at the West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide.
